Venita

Venita Belton, co-owner of Life & Wellness Counseling and Consulting, PLLC, is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) through the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors, with 10 years of therapeutic experience. Venita also serves as an Outpatient Therapist for Life & Wellness and provides therapy services to children, adolescents, families and couples. Venita earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from Webster University in 2009 and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 2007. Venita is also a member of the North Carolina Counseling Association (NCCA).

Venita discovered her passion for helping others through a personal experience, during her volunteer work with Big Brothers Big Sisters. She gained her experience through work with the Department of Social Services, psychiatric hospitals for adult and geriatric patients, private in-home settings, and private practices that specialized in bridging medical treatment with therapy. Venita is trained in providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF CBT), through her work as a therapist in a sexual trauma resource center for victims of abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault.  Venita is also trained in play therapy and has experience providing therapy to children as young as 5 years.  Venita currently provides therapy to children, adolescents, families and couples utilizing, Gestalt Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Christian-Centered Therapy, etc. Through her commitment to improving the mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, and social health and the overall quality of the lives of others, she understands that every person deserves to have a voice, to feel empathy and to have their privacy respected.
